Introduce yourself. Who are you?

My name is Tida and I have a business called Tida Designs. I’m a 24 year old muslim living in London and a self taught Islamic artist.

Whats the best advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I received was when I was doing my BA. My sister told me to focus on each day. As simple as it is, it really helped me with my studies and made me realise that we just need to focus on the present because we don’t know if we even have tomorrow. And I still use this advice with everything I do today alhamdolillah.

What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?

I like to make time to paint or draw. It important that I do this because it helps me grow as an artist and I can push my abilities further. I find that we don’t make time for the things we enjoy the most in life, so that’s why I make an effort to do this for me and for my business.

What is one thing people would be surprised to hear about you?

People are usually surprised when I say I have a twin.

What is something on your bucket list?

I’d love to travel around Asia one day in sha Allah

Where do you find inspiration?

I am always inspired by my uncles work. He’s an Islamic artist and calligraphist. He taught me how to draw and paint from a young age. When I travel to see him, I always leave feeling inspired by his new work and his knowledge on Islamic art.
